Welcome to N-Gram House
At N-Gram House, we believe that understanding the building blocks of language is the key to unlocking the true potential of artificial intelligence. Whether you're a developer building your first generative model or a curious practitioner diving into NLP for the first time, this is your space to learn, experiment, and grow.
What We Do
N-Gram House is a practical, no-fluff hub for real-world AI knowledge. We focus on making complex topics like n-grams, transformers, embeddings, and language modeling accessible through clear explanations, hands-on code examples, and honest analysis of tools and trends. Our goal is to bridge the gap between academic theory and production-ready applications.
Topics We Cover
We explore the foundations and frontiers of natural language processing and generative AI, including:
- Statistical language models and n-gram techniques
- Transformer architectures and attention mechanisms
- Word embeddings and contextual representations
- Practical ML workflows for text data
- LLM prompt engineering and evaluation
- Tools, libraries, and open-source frameworks
- Emerging trends and ethical considerations in AI
About the Creator
Nicholas Barasa is a machine learning engineer and educator based in Boulder, Colorado. With years of experience building NLP systems for real-world applications—from chatbots to document analysis—he’s spent too many late nights debugging tokenizers and tuning hyperparameters. He created N-Gram House because he saw too many talented people held back by opaque tutorials and overly academic explanations. This site is his way of paying it forward.
Why This Website Exists
N-Gram House was born from frustration—with tutorials that skipped the basics, documentation that assumed too much, and research papers that didn’t tell you how to actually implement anything. We’re here to fix that. Every guide, code snippet, and analysis is written with one question in mind: “Would this have helped me six months ago?”
Our Values
We believe in:
- Clarity over cleverness — If it can’t be explained simply, it’s not well understood.
- Practicality over theory — Code examples, not just equations.
- Honesty over hype — We call out what works and what doesn’t.
- Inclusion over exclusivity — No gatekeeping. If you’re curious, you belong here.
